Bridging the gap between wireless technology and MFP’s
The world of printing has remained a constant, and yet has been transformed. The use of a printer is an essential part of our working and private lives however its purpose has changed: from what originally was a machine to print documents has since become a device utilised not only for printing, scanning, and faxing but to improve communications and workflow
The printing world has seen the development of printers, Multi-Function Printers (MFP’s) and toners where advances have resulted in better quality of print, longer toner life and greater colour accuracy.
Most significant is our dependence on printers which has grown to a level similar to mobile phones. MFP’s are relied on to perform multiple tasks over and above simple printer functions and as a result these devices are required to produce precise services suitable to the daily workflow of the office. Although the development of MFP’s is designed to meet the transforming needs of the working world, there is still space for improvement.
So what is next in the development of MFP’s? Kyocera has introduced a solution to bridge the gap between technology and the world of printing with the KYOCERA Mobile Direct Print App. Kyocera’s new mobile application is designed to connect stationary printing and document solutions to the wireless world. By downloading the Kyocera Mobile Print app on either an android or apple device, customers are able to print and scan quickly and easily through Multi-function Printers connected to a local Wi-Fi Network.
When connected to Kyocera’s app, the user has the ability to print documents stored on their mobile device varying in formats: PDF, .JPG, .PNG, .TIFF, and .TXT., as well as from an online source at a lower resolution.
Documents can also be scanned from a multifunction printer and sent directly to a mobile device – allowing faster and easier access and use. In order for the app to improve productivity and efficiency it also saves the user’s time by allowing the option to email documents immediately without having to exit the app.
With a friendly and intuitive interface the KYOCERA Mobile Direct Print application makes the workday simpler by enabling connectivity between mobile devices that are prevalent in today’s workplace; a win in anyone’s book.
